For our very 1st IGCSE topic in History we had to inquire the three significant characters in History namely, ‘Woodrow Wilson’, ‘David Lloyd’ and ‘Georges Clemenceau’ and so we chose to design a Facebook-style social media profile for historical figures to investigate their major and minor personality traits and determine the connections and associations between them. Students of Grade 9 History class enjoyed while creating high-quality work by applying the knowledge that they had of the class material. It enabled them to display their humour and creativity too. It did allow them to bring in a diversity of perspectives, primary sources and photos and think in layers rather than simply memorizing data. Once when they created the profiles this task encouraged them to reflect and carve-out treaties from the perspective of different nations i.e. France, British and America. They walked into the shoes of each personality and came up with terms they would have wanted the most.
