In the classroom, students create digital stories in collaborative groups, taking on different roles such as the writer, director, editor and narrator.
Digital storytelling helps students build important 21st-century communication skills and make personal connections to the content they are learning. Digital storytelling engages students in deep thinking and helps them become powerful communicators. When digital stories are published online, students have the opportunity to share their work with their peers and gain valuable experience in critiquing their own and other students’ work, which can promote gains in emotional intelligence and social learning.
