Enabling Visualisation in the Classroom through Poster - Making

Updated: Nov 23, 2021

Posters have quite a positive effect on the process of learning. The best advantage of poster making is that it facilitates teamwork and understanding along with facilitating creative thinking and extensive research and reading. It provided students with an opportunity to learn by doing, in turn strengthening the learning. Students visually represented the key points and while presenting elaborated on the same which facilitates their retention and recall of events and facts. Poster making and presentation is also an effective tool for evaluating the students’ knowledge and created opportunities for active discussion and participation. Both Poster making and presentations actively engaged them in their learning process.

Propaganda first became associated with politics during the French Revolution.

Propaganda in this new political sense was part of an ambitious program of public instruction that aimed at nothing less than the total regeneration of the French people. While studying the Politics of the French Revolution - my students came up with some brilliant propaganda posters from the perspective of both the 1st and 2nd as well as the peasant class - that motivated them to engage further in this topic.
