In the modern era, India is one of the most diverse countries. This subcontinent is home to over 100 languages, over 700 distinct tribes, every major religion on the planet, and some of the world's largest cities, as well as isolated regions with a tiny population. India's diversity is represented in its faiths, ethnic groups, cultures, and social systems. Since independence, the country's secular and pluralist stance has arguably aided India in realising a "Diversity Dividend." Apart from democracy (India is the world's largest) and demographics (it has the world's largest youth population), variety is a critical asset for India, providing an essential qualitative layer that propels India's development and ascent in global significance.
As an educator, I believe in empowering my students to change their own lives and communities. Geographers in Grade 6 were tasked with developing a recipe for an Incredible India. The term 'the recipe for Incredible India' was used as a metaphor for analysing and evaluating all the factors/characteristics/features that could contribute significantly to the Incredibleness of our India! The aspiring geographers shared some inspiring recipes.
