Think-tac-toe is a strategy that harnessed the visual pattern of the tic-tac-toe game to broaden grade 6 student's understanding of instructional content, challenged them, and provided a variety of means to assess their mastery in a way that was fun and unusual. The designed think-tac-toe activity supported the purpose of the Big Bang Theory unit. Grade 6 was presented with 8 different possibilities on a grid board. They were able to cite and explain how microwave background radiation, the redshift of galaxies, and the elemental composition of the universe all contributed to the development and verification of the Big Bang Theory explanation of our universe. They worked in pairs and chose any two activities to show an understanding of their learning.
